Our conference looks to stimulate robust discussion around D&I issues, to enable a greater understanding of the benefits of Diversity and Inclusion strategies in the workplace and how we can best implement them into our workplaces so we are ready and primed for when the legislation comes into force (current proposal – mid/late 2020).

We are bringing 3 keynote speakers in the field of D&I to the island as well as taking stock of the local position.

We plan a truly interactive conference culminating with an expert panel of specialists engaged to answer the questions you’ve always wanted to ask in relation to the future of diversity and inclusion in the workplace and its relevance to Guernsey.

Matt Dean from ByrneDean will lead a discussion on the moral and business case for D&I and barriers to be overcome. Matt is a writer and facilitator dedicated to the creation of kinder, fairer and more productive workplaces and worked as an employment lawyer with top city firms until the creation of consultancy firm Bryne-Dean in 2003.

Sarah Boddey Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer, EMEA and APAC, Northern Trust will offer a case study on successful implementation of D & I strategy.

Sarah Jackson who served as Chief Executive of ‘Working Families’ for over 20 years in the third sector will talk about family friendly policies and business success and show us how smart employers in the UK are thinking beyond ‘new mums and maternity.’ As you may be aware, the right to request flexible working was recently introduced in Jersey and we very much welcome Sarah’s perspectives on work life balance issues. Sarah is a regular national media commentator and compelling experienced speaker.
