Rupert Dorey, Group Head – Past President (2012-2014)
Rupert has over 30 years’ experience in financial markets specialising in credit related products and established CSFB’s high yield debt distribution in Europe.
Rupert is a Non-Executive Director, is a former Guernsey Chamber of Commerce President and is a member of the IOD. He heads Chamber’s Infrastructure subgroup and is additionally a member of the Finance, Legal and Tax subgroup.
About the Infrastructure Subgroup
To appraise critically States Policy on all aspects of waste/ resource management and energy provision, including infrastructure, security of supply, renewables, demand management and pricing.
To work and engage with Government and Private Sector Representatives to achieve the optimal outcome for the island within the financial and technical resource constraint limitations available.
- To undertake regular meetings of the committee and to engage with stakeholders in the furtherance of its mission
- To educate and inform members of developments, initiatives and opportunities via seminars /presentations when appropriate
- To respond constructively to Government Requests for information and consultation
The group is acutely aware of the delicate balance between finding optimal solutions for energy provision and waste/resource treatment and takes a long term view of the overall cost of provision of these services from technical, financial, environmental and social perspectives.
