The States of Guernsey, Carey Olsen, Northern Trust and Sure are hosting Guernsey’s first Blockchain Technology Conference on 2nd March 2017 to explore how blockchain technology could change the world as well as what it means for the future of local businesses in Guernsey. Expert FinTech speakers from different business sectors will be presenting the opportunities and risks for local businesses as well as exploring where the technology is already having an impact in global financial services.

Schedule:

8:30-9:00: Bacon rolls, pastries and coffee.

9:00-9:10: Welcome by Colin Vaudin, States of Guernsey Chief Information Officer.

9:10-9:40: Blockchain from the Stone Age to the Digital Age by James McEwan, Chief Enterprise Architect and Justin Bellinger Chief Digital Officer from Sure.

9:40-10:40: Blockchain in action – current services and projects with Stuart Lawson, Project Manager Northen Trust and startups based on blockchain technology.

10:40-11:00: Coffee break.

11:00-12:00: Panel Discussion – Richard Field, Counsel, Carey Olsen, Northern Trust and Sure discuss opportunities and threats for Guernsey.
