GIFA’s annual dinner raises £5,000 for The Burrow

The Guernsey Investment Fund Association (GIFA) has raised £5,000 for the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation from a collection at their annual dinner on Friday 4 March.

As GIFA’s nominated charity for the evening, guests were invited to make a donation to the charity’s latest fundraising initiative, The Burrow.

Thanks to the generosity of over 300 guests, the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation’s biggest project is even closer to becoming a reality.

The Burrow will be a property next to Southampton Hospital that families across the Bailiwick can use if their newborn baby or poorly child requires critical off-island treatment.

Jo Priaulx, co-founder of the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation says: ‘We are completely astounded by the generosity shown by all of the guests! A big thank you to each and every one of you, and to GIFA’s committee members for choosing to support us.’

Richard Le Tocq, one of the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation’s Founding Trustees, took to the stage on behalf of the charity to highlight the importance of the work that it does for local families needing support.

Andrew Whittaker, Chair of GIFA says: ‘I am so pleased our fundraising has made such a difference to The Burrow campaign. All our members were really interested to hear about the Foundation’s work and being in a small island you don’t have to go far to hear of someone who has benefited from the charity.’

The total amount raised at GIFA’s annual dinner is the equivalent of 1,000 virtual bricks that will contribute to the purchase of The Burrow.
