OfficeSupport / Business Advice

Chamber’s office is open from 9.00am to 4.00pm and can offer advice on a wide range of business and daily topical issues. We keep our members up to date by email with the latest information on key issues.

Web Site

The Chamber website carries details of all Chamber members. When dealing with Guernsey companies, compliance departments in UK and foreign jurisdictions often expect any business of substance to be a member of its local Chamber of Commerce. A website check is a common item on compliance checklists. Indeed the absence of an entry can raise suspicions and may preclude a company from business opportunities.

Promoting Members Business Interests

The Chamber of Commerce provides a respected forum for members to lobby government on a wide range of issues. The Chamber Council meets monthly to review the coming States Billet and other key issues. The Executive Committee ensures that Chamber’s work is carried out according to Council directives. Sub-committees shadow the work of the States departments with whom we have a good working relationship. Various representations are made on behalf of members on issues such as the Urban and Rural Area Plans, airport developments, waste management issues etc.

Annual Members Directory

This valuable office directory of all Chamber members and their details is updated annually. The classified section is extremely useful in searching for those companies in a specific category. The directory also provides an update of Chamber history with details and reports of Chamber activities.

Contact Magazine

This publication covering a range of topical Island issues is free to Chamber members and has a monthly distribution of 1300 copies. Discounted rates for advertising are available for Chamber members.

Meeting Room

We have a meeting room available for hire at the Chamber Offices at which courses, meetings or interviews can be held. There is space for up to 10 people and the room is available by the hour, half or full day at exceptionally reasonable rates. The room is equipped with internet access, screen and flipchart. Tea, Coffee and Refreshments may also be provided. Please contact the office for further information.

Chamber Lunch

A monthly lunch provides the opportunity for business networking. An invited speaker talks on a topical issue with opportunities for a question and answer session afterwards.

World Wide Trade Contacts

The Guernsey Chamber of Commerce is affiliated to the British Chamber of Commerce and is regularly updated on a range of worldwide trade contacts. We have a working relationship with the British Chambers office and also our colleagues at the Jersey Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Document Certification

The office can Notarise documents (Signature Authenticate) whether it be a document for international business use or one that simply requires Authentication for KYC (Know Your Client) purposes.  We can arrange for documents to be Apostilled too.  Chamber has links with London Embassies for the Authentication of trading documents. This service is provided at discounted rates for Chamber members.

Young Business Group

Chamber’s Young Business Group consists of more than 100 members who involve themselves in a number of social and charitable events on the Island. Amongst other activities they erect the Christmas Lights in Town and organise the Island’s annual Business Trends survey. The YBG meets monthly for a business lunch with a speaker and an important opportunity for business networking.
